How often should I visit the dentist?
There is no single schedule that is right for everyone. Your recommended visit frequency depends on your gum health, cavity risk, medical history, previous treatment, and current findings. Many patients are seen every six months, while others benefit from a different interval.
What happens during a routine dental visit?
We review changes in your health, discuss concerns, examine your teeth and gums, check your bite and existing dental work, and screen the tissues of your mouth. A professional cleaning and diagnostic images may be recommended according to your individual needs.
Do dental cleanings hurt?
Most routine cleanings are comfortable. If your teeth or gums are sensitive, or it has been a while since your last visit, tell us. We can adjust the appointment and explain each step to make the experience easier.
Are digital dental X-rays safe?
Modern digital imaging uses low radiation. Dental X-rays are not taken on an automatic one-size-fits-all schedule; Dr. Zingher recommends them when they are clinically necessary based on your history, examination, prior images, age, symptoms, and disease risk.
Do children need general dentistry visits?
Yes. Regular visits help monitor development, prevent and identify cavities, reinforce home-care habits, and help children become comfortable with the dental office. Recommendations are tailored to each child's age and risk factors.
What if I do not have dental insurance?
You can still receive preventive care. Prestwicke Care Club is an in-office membership option for patients without dental insurance and includes preventive services plus preferred pricing on eligible treatment. Membership is not dental insurance.
